Yes, even a summertime road trip can be a college prep experience!

For fun and enlightenment, consider traveling to a National Park.  Though “National Park” might conjure thoughts of Yellowstone and hiking trails, the Park Service offers visitors much more: according to the NPS website, parks include “monuments, battlefields, military parks, historical parks, historic sites, lakeshores, seashores, recreation areas, scenic rivers and trails, and the White House.”

Thus, your “walk in the park” is likely to deepen your knowledge about geology, history, or science (think feats of engineering such as those showcased at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis or the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina).
